How to relieve fist and hand tightness

Step 1First warm up muscles with a warm hand and arm bath, or a parafin wax dip, or do in or after warm shower.

Step 2With Right hand, grab left fingers and stretch palm of hand. Hold for 30 seconds while taking long deep breathes. Be sure to keep your left elbow straight, this will allow the entire forearm to be stretched.
Do the same stretch while holding onto the left thumb.
Then continue stretching each finger back. Take your time and allow the tissues to relax and unwind. -
Step 3Now to stretch the top of the left hand. Straighten left elbow to insure a full forearm stretch. Use right hand to push on top of left hand, holding for 30 seconds.

Step 4Next grasp the tip of one finger and pull for 10 seconds. This will decompress each joint in the finger and wrist.

Step 5Now rotate left hand stretching wrist and sides of forearms. Hold for 20 seconds and rotate the opposite direction, hold for 20 seconds.

Step 6With left Palm on table top use right index finger to massage tendons ontop of left hand. Pay extra attention to joints at wrist. This will bring circulation and blood flow to area and help loosen tight tendons. Continue to work up forearm.

Step 7Turn Left hand over on table and massage the palm. use knuckle or elbow from right hand to gently compress and push into muscles of the hand, fingers and forearm.

Step 8Now work on right hand, fingers and arm!
Don't forget to breathe!!!
Really take the time to do this for yourself! You can do it while in line at the bank, in a meeting, on a phone call, etc.
It is so simple, yet makes a huge difference.
Get into a good habit of taking care of your overworked hands! They are the only ones you get :o)
