Yoga Therapy
Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, found by Michael Lee in 1986 is a combination of classical yoga techniques and elements of a contemporary body-mind psychology which encourages a deeper connection with self. Through our assisted yoga postures and a non-directive dialogue, our Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy practitioners will guide clients to experience the connection of their physical and emotional self(s). Using focused breathing, this connection is held and explored, fostering release, personal growth and healing.
Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy (PRYT) is a proven, client-centered, non-directive approach to body-mind therapy. There is no diagnosis and no prescription; the wisdom of your own body proves the healing, from the inside out. No yoga experience is necessary. Sessions are private, confidential, and created just for you. Clients have reported a variety of benefits, including: Enhanced mental clarity and focus, the ability to identify and release fears, greater emotional stability and freedom from destructive impulses. This form of body-mind therapy can be used in conjunction with treatment of physical and mental illnesses, injury, stress and trauma. Unlike some forms of therapy, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy does not focus on symptom and does not attempt to relieve specific ailments. Instead, PRYT is about personal transformations and self-empowerment. Frequently, however, specific ailments will disappear as a by-product.

Some possible benefits of a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy session may include:
- experience the body-mind connection
- become more self-aware
- gain insight into a life situation
- experience emotional release
- an opportunity to revisit your sense of purpose
How many Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy sessions will I need?
You will probably start feeling some benefits after the very first session. An initial series of 5 sessions is recommended to let the body/mind fully surrender to this new approach. Then, you can better determine if you need additional sessions.
What is the optimal frequency for sessions?

Initially, most clients prefer to receive sessions every week or every other week. Eventually, you will determine the frequency that best suits your needs.
How does Phoenix Rising relate to other modalities?
PRYT can be a natural complement to other forms of personal and spiritual growth approaches (psychotherapy, 12-step programs, body work, meditation practice, Tai Chi, etc).
